I see you guys have the same trouble …
Comment posted New laws controlling lawyers to be passed in a few weeks? by Garry.
I see you guys have the same trouble we do with the politics and lawyers. They try to rule and make more money while they do it. And if they don’t make enough money they change the rules.
Here in America, Tenessee, Hickman County, the council thought they deserved a raise (they don’t earn the money they get now and are way overpaid for what they do) so they were going to tax us an additional $30 per vechile. It got voted down by a margin of 75% of the voters. They are so mad and embrassed we haven’t heard a word out of them. Power To The People. And one person can make a difference. - Easter Monday in Karmi (Karaman) village, north Cyprus
That doesn’t matter. What matters is that is a lovely village and I wish I could have been with you while you went there. I would have loved to have sat and had a glass of wine there. Thank you for the pictures and thank you for the article. - Much Ado About Nothing – Cyprus Talks
Hello Mal,
This is your old buddy from the U.S.A. Just checking in. It sounds like your Al Downing and some of the others are like our Obama and Pelousi. They like to do things behind closed doors. Then they tell you a lie about what the meeting was about. I think all of them all over the world are forgetting they are suppose to be working for us and not us for them. I am hoping this year we are going to send them all a message.Don’t know much about the EU but if they are anything like the UN it’s like putting tits on a bore hog. They are just plain useless. Hope the problems get worked out for the good of the people. We all need to let our voices be heard and let them know that “we all” are fed up with the lot of them. We put them in and they try to run over us. Payback is going to be Hell. Either here or the hereafter. I think they all forget that. Keep up the great newspaper.

Garry - Cyprus smoking ban, is it working?
Hello Mal,
We in the U.S. have a smoking ban also. We are not allowed to smoke in any public building. Most places has a special place for smokers. I am talking about office buildings all the way to manufactoring companies. Some companies however won’t allow you to smoke on thier property. Even in your own vechile. Some companies won’t even hire you if you smoke.I aM A SMOKER BUT MY WIFE ISN’T. But it goes like the banking and insurance and along with the EU. They want to control our life. They have already in the United States require fast food places to put calories on thier menus. They also have the seat beat and child restraint law. You will get a hefty fine if you are caught in the car without it being fastened. They will take your child away from you if they catch your child out of his special seat. That is very pricey. It isn’ the saftey factor that is the problem, it is the control over us that is the problem. They are even talking about you can’t smoke in your own home if there is someone under the age of 18 in it. Even the bars where you could smoke where noone under the age of 18 is allowed, in Feb. you can’t smoke there anymore. You think that isn’t going to hurt the food and achohol business? All this is CONTROL!!! Like the summit in Copenhagen, on the gobal warming, they want world money like the EU has, and they want it world wide.
The next thing they are going to regulate is fried foods at resturants. It is being discussed in this country. The insurance companies are going to charge you more insurance if you are over weight. Who sets the standards for over weight? They want to control every asspect of your life. From the cradle to the grave!!! To smoke or not to smoke should be a personal decision. Just like to drink in excess or to over eat. Our governments are taking to much control. When are we going to say ENOUGH!!!
Thanks for your newsletter I appreciate you giving us a way to express our feelings and thoughts.
your friend in the U.S,
Garry - Lies?
It’s amazing to me that a small island could have the same troubles as a large country. We’ve been lied to and deceived for the past three presidents. They want more to rule than to serve. Our congress is not any better. I think these people forget they work for us. Here they are trying to dictate to us and the lies keep coming. It has been proven if you tell a lie long enough it will be believed. It isn’t bad enough we have to pay all these taxes they try to tell us where we have to spend our money. So be smart and listen to their lies but don’t believe them.

Interesting article, I think there has been alot of people stung by the lack of legislation regarding property in North Cyprus as much as the failings of advocates.
I think quite often the blame gets put on the advocate when they are only actually working within the framework of the law.
Having said that some are alot better than others and the new law is very welcome. On our website
http://www.lincguide.com/review you will find a mass of information on legal problems and the solutions to them.
How long has the discilplinary board existed and who has it ever disciplined?
Garry,
In America you can call lawyers to account and have full democracy. This is not yet the case in the north of Cyprus.
That’s the point, it’s never disciplined anybody and Feyzi hasn’t got back to me yet
I emailed a question to BARO on the 10th October 09, the day after the meeting at the Pia Bella hotel when the Secretary of BARO offered to answer questions via email as questions were limited on the day. I have not yet received a reply. I have emailed again today 30th October. I have asked if there is an appeal procedure against being refused PTP and if so what it is. I intend to take Turkey to the ECHR on this refusal of permission but need to exhaust all local procedures. If I don’t get a reply from BARO I will take it that there is no appeal process.
I guess you noticed NCFP’s permanent counter showing how long we’ve waited for our reply from Feyzi Hansel. They used the PISTON method of spreading information here, everyone gets PISTON from the bloke above.
