embargoed30 November 2009, London: Forty people attended a fundraising dinner at fine dining eatery Kazan in Victoria on Sunday 29 November, helping to raise £600 for the group. Dignitaries included TRNC Transport Minister Hasan Tacoy, the TRNC London Representative Kemal Koprulu, Colin Bell, Chair of the Communication Workers Union’s National Race Advisory Committee, BBC News Reporter Alex Ritson, and Turhan Ozen, Head of  Liberal Democrat Friends of Turkey Group. Seated in the cosy Harem Room, the guests indulged in an Ottoman feast and lively discussions about the Cyprus Problem

Embargoed! is an independent human rights group campaigning for the immediate and unconditional end to all embargoes against North Cyprus. The group was launched on 4 March 2005 and aims to play an active role in raising awareness about the isolation of North Cyprus and lobbying world leaders and institutions to restore the fundamental political, economic and social rights of Turkish Cypriots.
