Cyprus44 forum down again
A month after upgrading their system, Cyprus44 forum is down again. This time the evidence points to missing files rather than a DDoS attack. An attempt to determine what had happened to the site resulted in an error message that there were no files on the server. There are other explanations for this error message but all point to either an accidental or to a deliberate erasure of the files.
Almost immediately after Cyprus44 was offline, the owner of one forum started advertising their own site on NCFP in order to try to plug the news gap. NCFP took a day off in order for the editor and contributors to spend an internet free day with their families. However, many readers had their Christmas spoilt by a 24hr gap in local news.
Last time this happened, Izzet updated NCFP on what had happened. So far there has been no news from him as to what has happened.

Thanks Mal for giving me the answer to the question I was going to write and ask. Why no Cyprus 44. Tried last night and today, and got a ‘no no’ from Yahoo. Shame that, but thanks for being the usual mine of useful information. I find I am normally a mine of useless information – so well done neighbour!

DOS attack again.
This time it’s more massive than the previous ones and even the dedicated server is having hard time to cope with the millions of requests each second.
I am in contact with the hosting company now to setup a dedicated hardware firewall which will cost me £350 per month.

19th January 2010 – Orams decision – Cyprus44 down YET AGAIN!!
It’s been over 3 days – and not a squeek from Cyprus44 as to what has happened and if and when they will be back online. Maybe you can get Izzet to post something here to keep members inormed?
Seems like the £350 per month spent on a hardware firewall was either a waste of money or not enough?
Would be glad to see you back online as all the GC forums are having a field day getting their views across without any counter balance – North Cyprus Free Press excepted

It is down , CY44, purely and simply because the Turkish administrators , that is mainland Turks , are busy drafting a new policy detailing future plans of how to PULL THE WOOL OVER THE EYES OF GULLIBLE BRITISH PENSIONERS !!
Some are now suggesting that now is the best time to invest in G/C property in the north !!

Watch out Yawnnis, You almost (only almost) said it wasnt all
fault of the pensioners. Dont forget next year you will be one
too. Now must get on with your scarf. Now judging from the size
of your head – I guess I better buy more wool.

Polly , I was married to an English rose for more than 40 years , maybe an English ..cactus will bring home what a beautiful rose my late wife was !!
No hard feelings but you are not my type , I like them pretty or rather beautiful and brainy too !! I didn’t add sophisticated as this would be asking far too much of a pensioner living in dodgy property in occupied Cyprus . !!

Cypriot , thank you for your good wishes , respectfully may I draw your attention to my name which is Yiannis .
Polly , being a cactus I have allowed her to refer to me in her usual utterly unsophisticated fashion as Yawnis , but at least she is or rather , if I accept her self description , IT is knitting me a scarf !!

Yawn – Yawnis:
The only problem with C44 being down is having to read your yawns here!
Remember: You can go to every court in the world, you can ‘win’ every judgement by hook or by crook – but one thing is certain – that the facts on the ground are still the facts on the ground!
Possession is still 9/10ths of the law.
Mr A – will not be having his Greek yogurt in Lapta any time soon! So what has victory bought you?
Some cheap publicity? Some fear amongst potential EU investors in the TRNC?
Just remember – when the GC invent a better mouse trap – nature will help the TCs find a better mouse!
If and it is a very BIG if, the GC want a settlement then they will have to negotiate in good faith – something they have a lot of trouble doing in recent years.
Still, look on the bright side your great, great grand children could be reading your rants in 50 years from now and they won’t have to wonder why Mr A didn’t get to Lapta after winning the case against the Orams – the answer will be all to obvious – GC in ability to compromise!
Let’s be honest – your top prize is not getting the alleged GC property back – your top prize is to have a Cyprus free of TC, period!
And for that to happen – you may well have to wait for hell to freeze over

Moover , I can’t even be bothered to enter into a debate with one that appears to be a halfwit. You are an intellectual dwarf , in fact a total calamity .
Best of luck and do let us know when you have had a bellyful and want out . Here is my offer , a generous one too. £50,000 pounds for whatever property you have swindled in the occupied parts . I mean it , think about it it might be the one and only offer you will ever get. 5O grand mate Stg , ready to sign a contract if you are !

Yawn….Yawn…..Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnis!
Your generosity is only exceeded by your own intellectual deficit which accounts for the reason you cannot enter in to an effective debate!
I don’t have any land or property in the TRNC but maybe I’ll buy some. After all if a greedy GC like you wants to buy property there for 50k even if it belongs to your compatriot GC – then there must be money to be made!
There’s no fool like an old fool…..Yawn, yawn, yawnnnnnnissssss

Yes mate , the Orams case caused its …death. The Turkish mainland administrators decided that you Brits would be panicking and causing damage to the pseudo state , the corrupt developers , lawyers , judges public servants would naturally lose out so close it they did !!
Why not join the FREE Cyprus forum where your views would not be censored , you will take a lot of stick but you can give it back without being banned .

I saw a suggestion on another site that it was Nige who caused it to go down…

Nige:
Who knows why it is down? C44 has had a few DDOS attacks in the past – maybe those attacking it are at it again (we can all guess from which side they come)
I would guess they can’t take the notion that those living in the TRNC may have a different opinion on the Orams case than they do
Still, in life what goes around comes around…
I wonder if those attacking C44 realise that since 2006 it is a criminal offence to conduct a DDOS attack with a 10 year prison sentence? Maybe they believe that they cannot be traced – but they can be – and it would be interesting to put faces to the anonnymous hackers who apparently believe in ‘justice’ for Mr A but are happy to break the law themselves!
Why doesn’t the GC hypocrisy surprise me…lol

We have come to expect more and more nonsense from you !
CY 44 is down not because of an imaginary attack but because as I posted earlier by a PANIC ATTACK.
Face it mate, the forum is down because of the Orams .

Methinks the gentleman does protest too much. You are right I am a
prickly bird, but despite your best efforts you couldnt pull this
English cactus. I may not be up to your very high intellectual
standards although I have already told you about self praise.
Why on earth would I want to meet with ‘passed it sell buy date’
hamburger when I have steak at home.
You are the weakest link – goodbye………….YAWNNIS – so boring.
I will waste no more time communicating with you.
