Comment posted Boycott north Cyprus builders refusing to accept court judgements? by Malcolm Channing.
Robin, the only problem with the list of safe companies is that another builder, pretending to be a homebuyer, could say that they had problems with the “safe” builder. The simplicity of just listing builders (and their other businesses) who have refused to honour a judge’s verdict is that it is easily proven that this is truth. It’s just a factual list with no value judgements associated except they will be found under the PROPERTY – IGNORED JUDGEMENTS category.

- unfortunately Polly, as I discovered in the UK, you then go back to the court to listen to a sob story as to why the money couldn’t be paid and the judge sides with them. Outside the court they stick two fingers up at you and drive off in a car worth more than the money they owe you. You then use an alternative cheaper and more immediate way of collecting the money.
- Jimmy, it’s a bit like in the UK where you can win a civil case and then find that you have to reapply to the court if the loser refuses to pay. A criminal case is different because the case is then the responsibility of the state.

K, how about these UK statistics?

K, having analysed the stats they show that 20,433 more people in 2010 registered to vote than did in 2005. In order to evaluate these stats you would need extra information, e.g. the number of adults eligible to vote in 2005 and 2010. Another fact is that in 2010, 40 000 people more than in 2005 voted for Eroglu.Obviously someone with a bias would prefer to read something into these figures. What’s your favourite conspiracy theory, K? The man in the grassy knoll was released from area 51 in order to use kinetic abilities to place 20 000 x’s on north Cyprus voting papers?

YS, so YOU don’t recognise the TRNC because it… doesn’t exist? How can you not recognise something unless it exists. You have to recognise it in order to not recognise it… and so on. How comes all these countries are negotiating with the TRNC? They are even giving it money, the EU €259m. How can they give this money to something that doesn’t exist? How will the auditors explain this away? The TRNC exists by virtue of the fact that it hasn’t gone away. Its self-declaration is gaining strength because its enemies have not been able to make it disappear. That’s the way that non-existent things become recognised. The TRNC is to Turkish Cypriots what Israel is to Jews.

YS, old bean, begging your pardon but what is it that YOU don’t recognise? - Wishful thinking or outright deception?
G’R, the article is mainly about politicians and their websites and not the integrity of the Turkish press. Robin does not refer to the Turkish press although he does mention Cyprus Today which is a Cypriot newspaper. You are right of course to always check articles as NCFP have done and that is why they are questioning these statements coming out just before the election. I remember the GC media carrying messages from president Papadopolous in April 2004 just before the referendum:“Mr Annan singled out the Cypriot leader for criticism in his comments, saying Mr Papadopoulos had not accurately explained the contents of the plan to his people in a key television address.” (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3773841.stm)
Seems like you need your head examined if you rely on Greek Cypriot presidents.

1. The Constitution: An internationally condemned illegal military base.
2. The Court: A Turkish puppet court running under the above constitution!
3. The Judge: A uneducated TC nincompoop formerly selling Molohia by the road, now “admitted to the bar” after consuming three dozen Effes in one night!
4. The Plaintiff: A morally corrupt British family with the combined IQ of a constipated baboon, who think they can pick & choose when to apply justice!
5. The Accused: An Ottoman remnant with a 500 year inheritance of pillaging and plunder under his belt!
6. The Verdict: The Vangos are bad, but the happy Hodja is even badder! Long live the happy Hodja!
There you go people…
We’ve had all the name and shame things in the past. The problem is the publicity. How do you get the info into the hands of a potential purchaser.
Sure, we all know where to look after it’s gone bad. We also know all the people who are too scared or too pflegmatic to rock the boat and still believe the builders are nice guys.
PIO/PCO had no effect the builders ignored them so that scheme didn’t work.
The bar are doing nothing ( I presume NCFP still awaits the promised response) ANy builder worth his salt would attempt to right the matter out of court and satisfy the customer. When it runs to a court case then one can only assume the builder has no intention of supplying goods fit for the purpose or fulfilling his contractual obligations. How often have we seen this happen? I can count maybe 4 cases in and around Karsiyaka. One case where 450 houses have allegedly been mortgaged. The Builder has done a houdini and the proud “owners” left holding the baby (not much else). No Kocans, no rights and no redress. Where is the headline? Where is the warning? Did the builder have previous history of “bad practice”? Who knows? Where could one have possibly have found out? What assets doeds the builder have on the island? Is there a way to get a confiscation order? The questions just go on and on. As to other people ruining the builders reputation. That just makes me laugh, they don’t need other people the do the job themselves absolutely perfectly. Much better than they build houses and certainly much better than they adhere to contracts.
May be it would be better to start a list of “safe” companies to deal with. The list would be a) much shorter b) less easy to manipulate and c) may be easier to publicise.

where is the state to enforce the court order?

Get Real,
Are you me??? hahahahaha
I am not taking the piss m8, however, some people here think we are the same person
I still believe in what I told you before, in principle I agree with what you say but I would prefer to see more moderate approaches if we will ever see a solution.
Malcolm and Robin,
Instead of wasting your time to research who is who and to prepare lists with “bad” developers and so on why don’t you just boycott them all and come to the free side? That would solve all problems wouldn’t it ?
Jimmy, Malcolm,
What state?
Although the original case is Civil, once the Court Order
is ignored, this constitues Contempt of Court which is a
Criminal offence and punishable by a prison sentence.
Have I been watching too many cops and robbers T.V. shows
….or…. heaven forbid……thinking. Sorry Kyri/Get Real
let me have some of your tablets!!!!!
Kyri says: “I would prefer to see more moderate approaches if we will ever see a solution”
Kyri, you should learn WHERE to apply the moderate approaches because negotiating with carpetbaggers is not one of them!
Take it from an online dinosaur.

Polly,
You have been a really bad girl. Naughty naughty you !
Shame that our tablets won’t do you any good though. Unfortunately they need a brain to work on and you obviously do not possess one.
Get Real,
I do not think that “where” is relevant. Personally I have my opinions which are expressed the same anywhere.
Having said that I have to admit that I often get extremely annoyed with same shameless provocations I see here. Thank God Polly suggested some pills to keep me calm
Sticks and stones Kyri – sticks and stones……
but please dont give any to Get Real or he might use
them to beat us and stone us to death with!!!
Polly,
I was mostly thinking along the lines of spanking to be honest with you.
