.. i did not knew about this Scam.. jee..
Not just Sell, but double sell!! something that you do not actually own to hundreds of people?
Damn! Thats like 20000% profit!
nevertheless i did knew that its common practice for ‘trnc’ to issue trial calls in weird days or just a few days before the actual trial so that the plaintiff will ”loose” the case by not appearing in front of the court.

Its also a way for them to show that they are an organized REAL country with ”firm” rules That even British citizens need to obey.. (napoleon syndrome)

.. just for the sake of truth … its not the ‘trnc’ who paid £2m to cover the Oram’s case, its Turkey mate, and the reason why they did so its because they had something to actual GAIN out of this. NOT because they gave a fuck about Orams..

  • yeah sure whatever Soler mate.. Cyprus will collapse and Trnc will flourish..

    CU.. CU…

  • Good job Mover you just proven us you know how to Google…
    Clap clap clap…

I wander if i type England – Corruption – Scandals etc etc whassit gonna happen?

Oh wait! it looks that according to the internet britain is full of ****!!
In fact the more civilized and democratic countries i Google combined with words like – Scandals- corruption etc.. the more full of shit the internet tells me they are! I bet if i type…..
Well how about that! even Canada has scandals..
    Switzerland also?
WTF is this? The word as we know it is coming to an end?

Grow up Moover, and stop advocating the devil.. you know very well that the more democratic a country is the more ”big of a deal” is even a tiny scandal. And people are free to write and tell whatever they want about it on the news ore internet. Google is not the way to tell corruption of one country – Transparency international is. An organization that specializes in this topic. //

And for what is matter Εven if you type down – Moover – pedophile – on Google you are gonna come up with some results.

Now i dont claim that Cypriots Or Cyprus is all rainbows and daisies- has NO corruption at all or stupid people whatsoever, I never said that.

All i am saying is that neither Cyprus nor Cypriots are the monsters you portrait them to be, and Yes Turkey is not prince charming either. In fact Turkey has more democratic issues as a country than Nazi-Germany had, and yes, one of them IS Cyprus.

I would like to also comment on your second link Though..

So…… the Russian who learned a few greeks claims that Cypriots don’t like the BRits!

well pardon me Mr. Sherlock Ru-Holmes.. I bet if we go on mother Russia we won’t find a single guy disliking the Brits?

Or if we go to london we wont find a British disliking the Russians?
    NO?

I guess then if we did find one then we will be able to generalize and say that All Brits and Russians are the same..

    …….Come onnnn

And the other thing… the price tags..

So you thinK that Carrefour or the employ there, changes the prices when british came on in?
Or gives a fuck if the costumer is british or pakistanish? Cyprus is full of foreigners mate.. That is infact one of the stupidest things i ever heard. Yes people (not Just British People) Complain about the high prices all the time And yes the Employ deals them with -i don’t give a fuck attitude- And yes nowadays Britain is more cheap than Cyprus! That is a fact.
since the bloody euro prices have gone up. Everything rounded up in a higher price than before, I don’t like that either but what u gonna do?
Everything that was 1 pound became 2 euros.
No one is conspiring against British People..

The Cypriot Govement is infact one of the few EU governments that complains that Eu should allow the countries to set Prices on some Basic Stuff so we can avoid this kind of swindling.

But EU says that Free market is a FREE market .. no regulations are allowed there..

So there you go.. since Cyprus entered eu we were forced to lift regulation laws on food prices, Thus leading to some repressed profiteering form the side of the market.

I believe we need to give it more time.. and prices will settle again.

  • You sir are an idiot.. (mover) ..

    Transparency international :

    27 Cyprus 6.6
    ..

    ….
    …..
    61 Turkey 4.4

    ..

    71 Greece 3.8

And the only reason we are not on top of Britain is indeed the Cyprus problem and the huge Army we need to preserve because of that.

    @ MAl.

And when and how exactly a GC ripped off a foreigner malcolm?
on a Cab? cause I happened to got ripped off in britain on a Cab also… is this making british a corrupted people as a hole?

    Of course not.

GC never double sold anything to BRits or did anything like this And got away with it.
Gc never mixed innocent british people with politics
Gc are providing with quality products and excellent service our tourists. The proof is that the vas majority of british happen to love Cyprus and keep coming back for more, and of course they are more than welcome to do so.

As for MR A … he stated malcolm that he is not happy with what happened to ORAMS. But he added that this is justice just had to stop.

What would you do in his part ? if Greeks came to britain and exploit a situation like this?

Wouldn’t you going to sue them?

    OF COURSE you would..

.. some more “in-depth” analysis of the “what if” annanplan-scenario.
Cyprus was qualified to join euro in 2008 at the irrevocably fixed exchange rate of €1 = £0.585274.
The minimum cost of a solution if Annan plan had passed was estimated to be around 10.5billion euros. *minimum
That’s 40% of Cyprus’s GDP. Arguably the pubic debt would had increased at least 3.5% in the worst possible historical timing and Cyprus would had (for sure) delayed at least 1 year to join euro simply because it wouldn’t had been qualified to do so. It is worth to mention that Papadopulos Rushed the accession despite the reactions of various political parties that argued that Cyprus was not ready. (even without a solution in our budgets some parties argued that we weren’t ready and that we should have waited a year!)
Now as we all know today..
On 2009 the worst economic crisis in latest history began.
British pound, Denmark’s and Sweden’s currencies lost nearly 30% of their value.
At one point BP   exchange rate to euro was €1 = £0.97! and Up until today it has not recovered yet.

If Cyprus didn’t joined euro at exactly that time, today we might use CYP as toilet paper and never joined euro.
    But even worse!
Imagine if we had taken a risk and entered euro at 2009 right after the economic crunch with exchange rate of (lets say..) €1 = £0.885274. in order to recover from the crisis.
Few years after our accession to euro (2011) Greece’s public debt and Anjie Merkel’s incompetence would had destroyed Euro transforming it into Dollar!
    What would that meant?
A cypriot that had 100.000 Cypriot pounds and joined euro with a weak currency would had first loose 10% (minimum)  of his money by the economic crunch and then loose another 10% (minimum) by the eurocrunch. That’s a lot of MONEY!
    example:
When a country enters Euro it practically invests to that currency, Cypriots at 2008 practically bought Euros that worth 0.73 BP
One year later 29 December 2008 euros cost 0.97BP!
so Cypriots made profit at that time (+24BP!) And many of us even invested at Britain. (I bought a British Car back then) sweet times..
    Anyways..
How much our Euros worth today?
    Today our euros worth 0.81GBP.
If we had entered euro zone at 2009 we would had lost 0.10GBP (per 100) So if you owned 100.000 you would loose 10.000BP!!!!!!!
But since we entered at 2008 despite all this economic mess we are still having 0.8 Bp profit! so A cypriot with 100.000 now owns 108.000 without moving a finger. If he had moved a finger at the right time and invested to Dollar now he could had have 150.000.
Of course comparing Euro to Dollar thats another story.
in 2008 our euros worth $1.48
today our euros worth … $1.20
    we’ve lost $0.28..!
But that is irrelevant with the non solution. I don’t even want to think in Dollars withing the Annan plan’s context..
General conclusion: American multicooperations screwed us over.
First Britain. Then Europe. Then both.
  • Do Greek Cypriots really want a Cyprus Problem settlement?
No Malcolm, All I am saying is that a solution to the problem must be economically sustainable, Tc must realize that 2 separate countries in a small island is not an economically sustainable solution. It will harm both sides. Tc must realize that America and all other great countries didn’t become great by dividing their people by ethnic criteria and saying where people can live and invest.
Tc must realize that a truly united economy is the way to go.
United we can compete with the rest of the world, divided we will only compete with ourselves.

Turkey  ( IPC) is now alleged to be responsible for the compensations to the refugees, I don’t believe that Turkey will really want to pay all that money, I believe that with that responsibility on their heads they will think twice on whether they wonna keep all that GC land. But even if they keep it I believe this way is more fare than the ANNAN plan. At least now Turkey is paying for the GC compensations not Cypriots.
History have shown that walls of division always fall, Cyprus’s wall will also fall once again, soon or later. And if European union survive this economic test, Cyprus will be reunited once again withing the European union’s law of right, if its not today or tomorrow it will be the day after tomorrow..
  • Do Greek Cypriots really want a Cyprus Problem settlement?
    Hey Ian,
You know, sometimes you need to throw a bit white to some black and viceversa  in order to create intermediate tones..
Either way though, the thing is that in the world we live in today, THE TRUTH IS no one gives a damn about the “reunification of Cyprus” and that is a fact all of us need to learn to deal with, I would even go as far to say that not even Cypriots care that much any more, not that they don’t want reunification, is just in the world we live in today: In where freedoms shrinks and vanish every day, its really hard for people to worry about  stuff like that. People today are quite desperate and all they really care about is how they’re gonna support their families and put some food on the table. They have no choice. We have no choice. We have owners. They own us/them. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations – the media – the wealth- everything. The true owners of the planet. That 2% of adults in the world that own more than half of global household wealth..  Ordinary people and Cypriots are no exception to that. They also struggle to survive their everyday Odysseys. No harsh feelings to the rich people, that’s how the system works. I am just stating the facts here.
Since Malcolm is mentioning Papadopoulos quite a few times, I think this is a good opportunity to lighten up some aspects of the problem that many of you might disregard.
Papadopoulos was not hardcore fundamentalist. (!)
    Yeap.! Take a deep breath…
Because actually if you take some time and really LISTEN to the speech he gave in 2004 you will notice that he targeted in the ECONOMIC reverberations of ANNAN plan and only.
I am not joking here. Papadopoulos like all politician was first of all a great businessman and then everything else. The speach he gave was 90% about the “economy of cyprus the next day” and 10% everything else. He didn’t even use the words Muslim or christian.  The main reason the elite of GC didn’t like the Annan plan was because of the economic perplexities that would bring to the Cyprus economy. And would affect everyone.
They are many reasons for that but I am not in a mood to write them all down right now since I am in a bit of a hurry anyway. But I ll however give out one of the most obvious.
–>The Annan plan compensations to the refugees that would loose their houses by the “land exchange” was going to be paid by the “common state” with the form of debt. Common state economy was going to be consisted by 95% GC contributions and 5% Tc contributions (at the beginning) and later on as the tc economy would had gotten stronger they would supposedly contribute more. (Further more Gc would have not be able to invest on North Cyprus)

This was one of the key arguments of Papadopoulos in his -Vote Against- speech.

…And allow me to say mate, that History has vindicated him!
On 2004 when cyprus entered the EU we had practically zero public dept so in few years time cyprus was able to enter EURO. If Annan plan passed the referendum the public dept of Cyprus would had gone sky high and Cyprus would had loose its chance to enter euro in 2008. If we had delayed even 1 year to enter euro Cyprus pound was probably going to have the fate of  British pound or any other country outside euro on the economic crisis of 2009. Maybe even worse than Iceland.
And not just that, with the public debt on sky high levels after a solution Judging from today’s standards Cyprus would have easily been on par with Greece Spain and Portugal today. If not worse. Even without a “solution” of such “ANNANomal” kind Cyprus is struggling to survive this harsh times we all  going through today..
So  actually if you are not committed to a  sentimental perspective you would agree with me that Gc have indeed made the right choice back then..
Thus ofcourse does not mean they do not want solution though, they just don’t want to became the beggars Or mockery of the international community..
*like Britain in the WorldCup.. ;)
No, I am just kidding you should have won the Germans..

  • Do Greek Cypriots really want a Cyprus Problem settlement?
I am equally harsh on stupid GC when needed Malcolm..
The real problem in Cyprus is that the majority of people from all sites like to paint things Black and white in order to favor their side. Even you M you just can’t miss an opportunity to exploit extremism, can you?
Anyone who claims that this is one side’s problem is just amplifying it.. Both sides have been hypocritical for many years and this parody of a problem started to bore me out long time ago. Personally my last hope for settlement died when Christofias and Talat failed miserably to deliver what they’ve promised.
But that doesn’t mean I am willing to let stupid people rewrite history just how they like..
