UN Secretary General officially recognises TRNC?

President Talat and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
When UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon sat down for talks with TRNC President Talat at the Presidential Palace in Lefkoşa, it was clear to many that a protocol had been breached. By attending an official meeting at a TRNC official office the Secretary General had recognised the TRNC. GCs blamed the TCs for forcing Ban to meet there, an accusation which would imply that the Secretary General was either too weak to refuse or too ignorant of the situation in Cyprus to understand the implications of his actions. Both of these explanations would appear not to be true.
Alexander Downer, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, used to being the focus of GC fury was unmoved by the current complaints and refused to apologise. DIKO leader Marios Garoyian was earlier quoted as saying:
“It is a blow to the impartiality and dependability of the United Nations. Mr. Ban is in breach of the UN’s principles and remit. We urge him to give explanations and make amends, and to reiterate his support for UN Security Council resolutions which condemn the establishment of the breakaway regime.”
Apparently, according to the Cyprus Mail, the diplomatic community “is absolutely disgusted” with the reaction of the majority of the Cypriot parties.
“The man is here to help find a solution, and this is how he is treated. These people want the kind of solution that is non-negotiable.”
EDEK’s Antonis Koutaliano’s response was that the Secretary General’s visit to the Presidential Palace was an “unacceptable” and “unprecedented” action that was in breach of UN Security Council resolutions 541 and 550.
Let’s see if Ban Ki-moon apologises to these GC politicians or, as expected, follows the rest of the world and ignores them. One thing is clear though, now the world can see why the Cyprus Talks will never succeed and why there is nothing that Turkey can do to change GC politicians’ uncompromising stance. Perhaps now the Cyprus issue can be removed as a pre-condition to Turkey’s entry to the EU.

Certainly seemed to have “significant political meaning” to the GCs.
Looks like creeping recognition and a poke in the GC eye, all rolled into one.

Boring, boring, not the main issue. Whoever is obsessed with the pathetic symbolism of where the meeting was held needs to get a life. The issue is what kind of solution if any will be agreed. In this respect, Talat’s speech during the lunch – in which be blamed the GCs for everything – was far more disconcerting than where the speech was made.
For the reoord, Downer made a subsequent statement that the UN recognized only the Republic of Cyprus, that the SG met Mehmet Ali Talat solely in the latter’s capacity as Turkish Cypriot leader, and that the place of the meeting had no political significance.
Also, protocol is “breached” and not “breeched”.

Just a thought, but if Talat had been invited to the GCs party
then perhaps the lunch in the KKTC would have been avoided.
Oh dear was someone so keen to slight President Talat that they
didn’t think it through.
Enough thinking for today, I’ll only get told off.

Before you write a book about recognition in international law – you should perhaps educate yourself about the process.
As far as the TRNC is concerned – once these lamentable ‘talks’ fail – which they will – you will see a change in attitude of many Islamic countries in particular.
Most in the international community including the EU and the UK are quite fed up with the GC attitude – not just what happened in 2004 but also prior and subsequent to that.
These ‘talks’ are the GCs last chance to have peace, security and reconciliation. Let them fail and you will see what will happen.
Before you launch a tirade of ignorant abuse and comment – just ask yourself one simple question – what has the GC achieved by its position in 35+ years – answer sweet FA.

NOt quite the same as saying the UN does not recognise the TRNC. The same article quotes GC politicians as believing that the visit WAS a recognition of the TRNC. Otherwise, why would they complain?

” UN only recognizes Republic of Cyprus” officially this is true at the moment. What is now also true is UN do recognize the existence of TRNC although does not give recognition. For me the important message is that; although ROC is officially recognized, today UN accepts the political equality of 2 community and states on the island.
I might be wrong or a bad observer but it was the first time for me in any similar press conferance that, both presidents refered by H.E xxxxxxx rather then their titles.
Its time for GC to act with logic rather then emotional attitude and stop arguing for nonsense. We as the TRNC, have every right to decide where we would have and meet with our guests.

How in gods name did you arrive at that conclusion??? Talk about spin and propoganda. I mean come on, you can say many things but to derive a conclusion like this is a blatant attempt to mislead (How am I doing malc??)
BkM, was deliberately taken to the ‘Presidential Palace’ for want of another word, in an obvious move to attach importance to his visit. He would have attended in a barn had they herded him into one.
All I can say is, this is a very poor attempt at jornalism / reporting and shame on Dom and even more so Malcom for allowing such to be published. Your bias is very obvious never mind free press more like, bent press.
Dream on Guys. Really, lets be logical now for a moment, if there was ANY legal mechanism, whereby the ‘TRNC’ could have been recognised, after 36 years don’t you think it would have been done? That in itself has to be telling you something, right?? So for all those dreamers who have bought illegal properties, who are now more vocal that the TCs themselves (I wonder why), your attempts to keep the island partitioned or even recognised have and will fail.
I find it quite discgraceful that you ones who shout the loudest are the ones who are a very big reason we cannot find a solution, perhaps the TCs should look a little beyond their few euros they currently extract from these sad people.
By deduction by Downer answering that the UN recognises the RoC, and NOT preceeding to state he also recognises the ‘TRNC’ can only mean one thing which ever way you slice it and that is, teh UN do not recognise the ‘TRNC’. Elementary my dear watson.

stelios, you really are a poor deluded bugger. You start out OK, by recognising that the last-minute switch of venue was simply a TRNC ploy to try to attach some significance to the venue. It worked, as can be seen by the hysterical GC rantings coming from the south. But, again as you recognised, so what? What the hell has a venue got to do with the efficacy of a meeting or the talks therein?
Unfortunately, you then begin to lose the plot in what has become a wearyingly familiar manner, and demonstrate all too clearly that spin, propaganda and bias is more the preserve of the GC than his opponent.
All Ban is attempting to do is to try to get some sort of resolution to the talks, and whether you lot accept it or not, at the moment Talat is one of the two key figures in those talks.
It’s becoming crystal-clear that there is a significant faction of GCs, the Cyprus-Mail’s “bash-patriots” (i like that term!)who simply do not want a solution. At least, not an equitable one. The only solution they want is the one they’ve wanted for 35 years and counting.
You then proceed to ram your foot even further into your mouth by declaring that ” you ones (we expats, presumably) who shout the loudest are the ones who are a very big reason we cannot find a solution”!
As the UN and the rest of the world are waking up to, it is the vitriolic intransigence of the GCs that is clearly the stumbling block to an equitable solution.

Anything that upsets the GC’s has got to be a step in the right direction. Every time they throw their toys out of the pram drives another nail. Anyway, Downer said they recognise the Roc, he did not appear to say they did not recognise the TRNC. In diplomatic speak…

Ian,
All Ban is attempting to do is to try to get some sort of resolution to the talks, and whether you lot accept it or not, at the moment Talat is one of the two key figures in those talks.
You may misunderstand the significance of the visit and the language of diplomacy. In this language every little counts.
Not understanding its signifince is not understand the history of the Cyprus problem and the (countless) meetings that have occured through the years.
This is the head of the an organisation that is acting under the weight of its own resolutions. These resolutions call for Turkey to withdraw its troops and for the international community to not engage with the “trnc”. He made no mention of this, so as to not upset Talat.
What would be the smart thing to do is for Ban to meet both leaders in neutral ground. It was poor judgment on his behalf to meet with Talat in his official residence. It is, to say the least, not promoting trust to his own neutrality.
The statement that followed is (to an extend) an admition of this error. Downner would not have made this statement if he had felt his visit was a result of being even-handed.
Dominics’ article is only designed to provoke rather than inform.
It would be nice to have article that are thought provoking rather than just provoking.
One has to wonder about Dominics motives ( and credentials)

Masta, what exactly has the “language of diplomacy” achieved so far?? Just how much value has been the “significance of this language”? I’d be inclined to give it more respect, if not credence, were it to have shown to be in ANY way effective.
“Every little counts”, you claim. I say, “counts for what?” I can’t see it counting for anything more valuable than a small piece of kangaroo turd.
Clearly, Masta, the “weight of its (UN) own resolutions” is having no effect whatsoever, so any ridiculous little errors of protocol really count for bugger-all. They all should have met on neutral ground??!! Why, for god’s sake? So-called protocol has achieved nothing to date, so why should there be any significance now to whereever in the hell they meet?
Had the GCs extended some plain, ordinary courtesy to Talat and invited him to that dinner in the first place, this ridiculous storm-in-a-teacup would never have eventuated!
Diplomacy?! What a load of manure!

Whe the GCs get upset you can be sure you are going in the right direction!
Once these talks fail – which they will – the TRNC should stick their two fingers up to the GCs and all of their so called supporters.
The TRNC should start to look East – refocus on its roots and develop a programme of working with the Muslim world.
The West is NOT where it will be happening in the future and the sooner the TCs realise this the better!
As for what the GCs will do if the TRNC looks East – probably the same as they have been doing for the last 35 years – court cases, sly and conniving back door deals with the EU – with the same results – A BIG FAT NOTHING!

Bottom line is, the TCs tried on a clever ploy that back fired on them, its one of those court F up’s where you inadventently get an expert witness to confirm the prosecutions point. In this case you managed all by yourselves (no GC help so don’t blame us) to get Downer to publically state that they recognise (only, otherwise he would have added it) the RoC, the meeting place was of no political significance and so on and so forth.
Admit it, you messed up AGAIN, how you hope to get recognition godd only knows, but when you are holding stolen goods, you crap yourself when the cops come by.

Still running your greek kebab and fish n chip shop?
Seems like your opinions are coloured by your ignorance.
For 35 years the GCs have said ‘no’ and for 35 years the TRNc despite the sanctions and other GC led isolation has manged to flower.
Do you think that continuously saying ‘no’ will lead to peace, security and reconciliation? I doubt it!
The thing that the GCs want is for the TCs to be totally isolated, impoverished that most will leave the TRNC for either the EU or Turkey and then you can have the Cypruss you want – a totally Greek island!
Well, that’s your fantasy.
The reality on the gound is this:
1. Most of the international community (read for that the West) are fed up with the GC ‘no’ attitude. UK, EU and even the USA have made this point. When the GCs asked for more EU sanctions after Turkey refused to open the ports – what happned? Exactly , nothing!
2. The OIC (Organisation of Islamic Countries) have laready indicated their willingness to recognise the TRNC and thereafter it will only be a matter of time for many others to follow.
3. The GCs strategy of winning back their alleged ‘propert / land’ through court cases is pathetic as it is un enforceable. What will Mr A do if the TRNC refuse the application for the demolition of the villa in Lapta? Answer: NOTHING. he can go to the UK courts for ‘contempt of court’ but he will fail as the Oramses have done all that could be reasonably be expected of them!
4. If you think the TRNC is finished – when exactly are you or any of your greedy GC cohorts coming to claim their alleged land / property? The reality is that with Turkish Troops here – you GC cowards would not dare move a finger in the TRNC!
In the end you will achieve what you GC deserve a BIG FAT NOTHING!
The sooner the TRNC calls your bluff regarding the so called negotiations the better. The GC don’t wnat to negotiate and the whole world can now see that – all that is for the naval gazing GCs.
From you post I can only conclude – You have the intellectual depth of a wading pool

Your stereo-typical view of the Muslim world is based on ignorance and wishful thinking!
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar are all flourished and will continue to flourish.
Of course it would be in your interest to get the TCs to believe that being a part of the West is better – and especially the democratic EU…wow! I am so impressed. But you know and I know that the TCs will never be Christian enough or White enough! They will always be second class citizens which is where the GCs want the TCs also to be!
It is a simple choice for the TCs – take control of your own destiny or be part of the ‘Christiandom World’ and end up as ‘guest workers’.
It’s a real no brainer!
For too long the TCs have looked to the EU to solve the Cyprus problem. In 2004, despite its own rules it admitted ROC even though the Cyprus problem was not resolved. Now the EU has pinned this restriction on Turkey – a bit two faced and hypocritical – don’t you think? Oh! I forgot – of course you don’t think!
The TRNC MUST call the GCs bluff. Tell them to go and play with themselves and move on!

Having said that I have to admit that we have an inaccuracy in the Greek lingo. When someone is dirty or uncivilized or uneducated or a loser and so on we say that he is a “Turk”. It is also used as a question, for example a parent could tell his dirty child “Are you a Turk? Go and wash now!”. The recognition argument is a red herring!
The talks will fail irrespective of the presence of BKM.
The GC can ‘whistle’ for what they allege is their land and property in the TRNC and the TRNC will move on – as it has done over the last 35 years even with the GC inspired sanctions.
The fact you and your cohorts fail to acknowledge is exactly what have you achieved in terms of ‘getting a TC free Cyprus’ your original and only plan?
Nothing!
What have the GCs achieved in terms of thwarting the TRNC eonomic development?
Nothing!
What have the GCs achieved in getting back any real part of their alleged land / property?
Nothing!
What will the GCs achieve with their current strategy?
Nothing!
So when you add up all the successes of the GCs over 35 years plus what do you get?
A BIG FAT NOTHING!

The word “tourkosporos” was extensively used against fellow Greeks, an the time of the exchange of populations, at the beginning of the last century – the ones that came from areas in Turkey…
…as for translation….probably the closest would probably be (in “polite” terms)
“I am fornicating with your house, you seed of a Turk”
but translating it is……
….actually it reminds me of a particular kind of swearing popular in France, which loosely translated means
“Go to Greece to be sodomised and then have children with feathers.”
Now, that just sounds like something you would enjoy with your fellow GC – to be sodomised

Greek Cyprus demand from EU….Good Lord what next?
‘
“Olli Rehn said upon a written request by Greek Cypriot parliamentarians, that the EU would launch an investigation whether Turkish and Turkish Cypriot flags polluted environment. Those flags are the indispensable symbols of our independence and freedom. Such an intervention in the flags with such unreasonable allegations of the Greek Cypriots through the EU is unacceptable.”

Mr Emir Soler, At least have the balls to admit that you did it just to provoke and humiliate the ”weak and helpless” GC that can’t do nothing about the loss of their land. You admitted it in the past stop pretending so clumsy….
Cause Mr oler if your one and only motive for this atrocious-repulsive-unsightly desecration of that beautiful mountain… was not to humiliate and provoke the GC but was indeed the whatever horsecrap you claim as a reason you would had painted the flag on the other side of the mountain so that you could actually enjoy it from Kerynia were the majority of you live and not carve it on the south side so that ALL the GC can see it.
You think other people from other cultures do not love their Flags and do not see them as a symbol of their freedom and independence? You Think the Greeks The Americans The British the Spanish the Germans do not love their flags?
Why you think they don’t cut trees to paint their flags on their mountains? But instead they plant trees on them? You really think only the Turks have the power the technology and the skills to paint rocks on the ground?
They just don’t do it Mr Soler cause FIRSTLY and mainly they actually love their Countries. Μore than a symbol or a flag or their selves, They actually care about that land, about that tree, that flower and that mountain. And if someone exogenous or indigenous carved a flag on their mountain it would had been considered by them as a huge insult to their mother land. That is the Ground of that land. That is the Tree, the mountain. if you trully love it and Care about it you wouldn’t -Not in a thousand years- dare to vilify that land by carving a bloody symbol on it. No other civilized culture does this they consider this a barbaric act. Only a conqueror on a foray would do this.
And the truth is mr soler.. that land does not belong to you. Not legally not mentally not anything. You Stole that land you plundered from it and you humiliated it. You see that land as a loot, as a conquest- not as your home-your Country. You do not love Cyprus. You love your mother land and your turkishness more. And the proof is that mountain with the engraving ”proud to be turk” on it.
Furthermore, If you really loved Cyprus and if you really felt Cypriots you would be the first to argue that such an action is not only a desecration to Nature but an insult to humanity as well. Α shameful act for any civilized culture. And i believe even foreigners who love Cyprus feel the same. If they love cyprus like i do they would agree that you destroyed a beautiful mountain and that paint needs to be replaced by a Green and thick forest.

Put your mouth where you money is – or are you just pretending that you got balls?
If you have land / property in the TRNC – tell me where it is and I will fly to the TRNC and see if it’s worth buying then you can sue me?
Don’t be like the rest of your sodomised brothers – be a man! But then I forgot – in the ROC the men are men and the sheep are afraid
Let’s face it you can come here and say all you want but when the dust has settled what have you got?
Have you got your alleged land back?
Have you stopped foreigners buying in the TRNC?
Have you stopped the TRNC from getting on with its life and economy?
Have you got the Turkish troops to leave?
Have you got more sanctions on the TRNC?
Have you achieved anything after 35 years?
No prizes for the correct answer – a BIG FAT NO
Now this is your problem – you have claimed much prowess but haven’t been able to deliver!
I guess you and your cohorts here will go to your graves still dreaming about your alleged land in the TRNC whilst the TCs, foreigners and Turks will be living happily in the TRNC!
Now that is what truly frustrates you!
Get over it loser
Seems like the ROC and GC realise that they will never become a world power or be of any importance in the world – so they have settle to be a nuisance!

Your ability to deduce through ‘a priori’ reasoning is about as valid as your alleged claims to land and property in the TRNC!
The problem you have is that in me you have found someone who will give you rhetoric back better than anything you and your sad GC cohorts have managed to do or will ever be able to do
If you had even a modicum of honesty you would admit what it is that frustrates you together with the fact after 35+ years you have achieved A BIG FAT NOTHING!
If I am a loser as you put it – just tell me what have you ‘won’ in the last 35 years – Sweet FA – that in anyone’s book is what you would call a REAL LOSER
As for who I am – my origins and my education – it is quite frankly none of your business and neither is it your business how and what I do with my time!
Still, it is good to know I have got under your skin – and touched a raw nerve!
Just tell me what is a GC useful for apart from being a nuisance to humanity?

Don’t kid yourselves!
It is just funny to see how stupid you GC are. For the last couple of weeks I have had a lot of fun teaching you something about the art of insulting when you thought that by being rude and pathetic you could undermine the debate here!
Now if you want a serious debate we can do that – but if you want to trade in insults bring it on – I’ll kick your arse jsut like the Turkish army kicked your arses in 1974 and you ran south with your tails between your legs!

Couldn’t agree more, Malcolm. I’ve always been of the strong opinion that debate is rendered without credibility when it becomes personal abuse.
When it becomes threatening, for mine those people should be prosecuted.
I realise that that will probably condemn some of “our side” to the queue also, but in my opinion, that’s not a bad thing.

I am glad that you also noted the same!
My initial posts here were serious and in the manner of acceptable debates.
But the GCs who post here are only interested in insults, threats, personal abuse etc.,
It may be because of their upbringing or it maybe genetic.
One thing is certain – when you give it back to them they cannot take it! Just like in 1974, when someone stands up to them they run like oh dear with his tail between his legs.
The GCs simply don’t get it. The TRNC belongs to the TCs and no matter what they say or do – it will never be theirs – and therein lies their frustration.
They have tried everything for 35 years with no success. The TRNC has survived and flourished despite sanctions and other limitations – and that’s their real gripe!
Now the only ‘joy’ for them is to throw insults, abuse and to threaten – like anyone is afraid of cowards
They have a liking for using the ‘back door’ too – just look at their entry into the EU!
Poor GCs – sitting in the ROC dreaming that one day they’ll get their alleged land / property in the TRNC!
Let’s tell them to take the flag on the five finger mountains to mean what they assume it means – some kind of ‘insult’ if so, let them take the index finger of the five fingers and ask the GCs to spin on it!

I’ve added a “Report this comment” link to each comment so that readers can email me if a poster is personally attacking someone or being sexually abusive. I don’t think I’m going to remove inflammatory statements such as PP’s unless they are illegal or abuse individual posters. So you have conviced yourself that the ROC is a leading light in the EU?
Like everywhere else on this site you GCs have littered comments as factual by twisting and turning in the wind.
25 billion is what your friend Get Real said – I simply said that is unrealistic if not mad! Go back and read it – understand the argument then comment.
Of course you can do it the GC way – connive, double deal, be economical with the truth and when you have still lost the argument like your dear friend YAWNNNIIISSS – call people names!
The fact remains as I have stated above to your friend – read the 10 points and tell me which you disagree with and why?
I will not be holding my breadth for your reply as when you have to deal with something directly you simply cannot!
What I think of the ROC is much in line with what many others think…
“… realising they will never be a world power, the GCs have decided to settle for being a world nuisance…”
Care to disagree with me?
If the ROC wanted peace, security and reconciliation they could have got that years ago.

Oh its those voices inside your head again.. they just won’t leave u alone right?
My brother is a doctor maybe i can convince him proscribing you some medicine.
Although it is insulting even bothering answering such a low accusation but the truth is i not only have TC friends, i actually have many Turkish Friends – Open minded people that dream not just Cyprus but a whole world without borders. A world that all people can leave together free and united without wars and corrupted politicians who are using the state to maintain their economic status quo.
Yes there are Turks that agree that cyprus can be a common land for both GC and TC giving an example to the rest of the world on how things are meant to be. And such a future it is not of course within a partition but in a plan that will truly reunite and restore freedom..

Kyri,
You and your GC cronies will always spin any material you offer on this site, and I suspect on others as well. But you have to realise, surely, that what you refer, whenever you deign to do so, is always open to investigation.
You’ve carefully chosen some dictionaries which give you what you want, but you’ve just as carefully edited their offerings to spin your point of view. My dictionary, a modern Longmans, simply says: Turk – someone from Turkey.
Your reference to the Random House entry, which you label (1), is in fact labelled (8) in the dictionary, viz., Turk:
1. a native or inhabitant of Turkey.
2. (formerly) a native or inhabitant of the Ottoman Empire.
3. a Muslim, esp. a subject of the Sultan of Turkey.
4. a member of any of the peoples speaking Turkic languages.
5. one of a breed of Turkish horses closely related to the Arabian horse.
6. any Turkish horse.
7. See Young Turk.
8. Archaic.a cruel, brutal, and domineering man.
As you can see, it’s also labelled “archaic”…
Most of us understand what that means, Kyri…do you?
When will you guys realise that the days of GC spin and propaganda are gone. People are now aware of what you’ve been doing for 35 years and counting.

How did you manage to get such an intelliegnt grandson? Obviously it is not in the genes – lol;)))
I reckon it must have been a mix up at the hospital! Better go back and get the one with his head up his arse – that’s the one that’s your grandson!
If you cannot read, comprehend, debate or write coherently – do you really expect people to believe you have such an intelligent grandson? lol
Yawn: Let’s do this – let’s wait for one year from now and see who is correct regarding the Orams case, the talks, and whther the TRNC will survive and go its own way or not if there is no settlement!
It will certainly not be solved by you

You have the same sense of humour of a GCs running south in 1974
When you wake up and smell the coffee you will see the TCs, Turkish Army, ex-pat investors and residents will always be in the north of the island – you may just realise all your hot aair is just that hot air

Kyriacos:
“Open minded people that dream not just Cyprus but a whole world without borders. A world that all people can leave together free and united without wars and corrupted politicians who are using the state to maintain their economic status quo”
With this quote – as hard as it for you to believe I totally agree. But that is the idealist in me and in many others including you.
The reality is very, very different and here it is you who are delusional and NOT me!
You maybe an exception to the general thrust of the GCs here and elsewhere on the Internet – in that you may genuinely want a united island with peace and security for all.
However, take a moment to read what your cohorts have written here and elsewhere – I also have many GCs friends and acquaintances and have lived in the ROC for sometime.
I regret that even these people have such deep hatred for TCs that it is not funnny.
If you were less idealistic and more realistic just ask yourself this: Why did the GCs reject the Annan plan in 2004? Whay have the GCs not been negotiating in good faith for the last 35 years? Why do you read, hear and see so many anti-TC statements and sentiments? Why do the GC political party use the ‘threat’ of the TCs in their political literature?
Exactly, the vast majority of GCs do NOT want the TCs on this island and dream of a totally ‘GC landscape’.
Sorry, but as much as I agree with your idealistic sentiments the reality on the ground is very, very different.
In that respect Kyriacos – it is you and not me who is ’self-delusional’
I would like to see a united island based on fairness and justice for all – but it simply will not happen. There are not enough people like you on both sides – and if there was some solution like that you have described – it will not take long for there to be serious violence. The wounds are too deep, the memories too recent and the realities to far gone!

I was trying out a new system and it sticks posts in the moderation queue because people complained. I’ve got back as many as I could but in the end I switched it off.
Now we have a new system that you are all in control of. You vote to say whether you like or dislike a comment, if it is disliked by lots more people than like it then it collapses and people have to click on it to read it. We’ll see what happens.

You could not even keep your word about not posting here again.
Todays episode of FANTASY ISLAND is down to your usual level.
Someone who has so little respect for women has none at all
for himself.
I think we all remember the GC who deliberately went round
infecting women with the AIDS virus; no-one with an ounce
of common sense would allow you near. The poor British woman
who was given the death sentence by that GC specimen of
manhood should be warning enough for all women no matter what
their nationality. Yes he was sent to prison but what use was
that to his victims.
I really cannot bring myself to say this with love.

Just for the record. I AM ANGLO/AMERICAN.
Remember Jeanette Pink – She was British – She was
the victim who took the GC to court for infecting
her with AIDS. Since your good friend Barren Kyri
boasts of his conquests of both old British women and
Turkish/Turkish Cypriot women. I think it is relevent

Hey Kyri,
I just looked up “Turk” in Wikipedia, and all I could find was – Turk: Person from Turkey.
Can you please post the link you’re referring to? I’d like to see just who is responsible for authoring that piece of racist garbage.
Come on now, stop being a turkey…

Nothing in the moderation queue or in spam. The “report this comment” system meant that once you were reported from then on you were counted as spam. I think now that I’ve removed it the “spammers” have lost their status, hence you have posted straight away.
I’ve also reversed the order of the comments so that the last comment is where it should be – at the end. You probably realise that the green >> button takes you straight there.
I’ve added self-monitoring where if you give a comment 4 “thumbs downs” then the comment collapses and can then only be read after clicking a link. I’ll maybe adjust that number after a short trial.
There is a chat link at the end of each article which allows real-time chats but probably needs to be coordinated via the comments, e.g. a “I’m available for chat at 1300hrs Cyprus time on 4/2/2010.
Any other facility any of you would like?
Hot debate. What do you think?

No, I believe that the gypsum was used to cover the grave-robbers tracks. So, honestly, what do you think happened?
1 – TC/Turks with lorry brought what they needed to do the job and took the body back north
2 – TC/Turks with lorry brought what they needed to do the job waiting in south until crossings were not checked then took the body back north
3 – TC/Turks with lorry brought what they needed to do the job and are hiding body in south
4 – they are being framed and the body is in the south
5 – they are being framed and the body is in the north
Plus, what would the motive be? Can’t quite get my head round an attempt to disrupt the talks.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in publishing your comments. The stupid “Report this comment” plugin I’ve uninstalled seem to have left the system still think your comments are spam. Apparently I have to accept your comments a few times before it reverses this.
I agree but one thing that seemed suspicious was the detaining of three soldiers who were released because they had alibis

The three soliders story died there and then. There was no more publicity about this after. Nor it was ever widely known who these people were. There is NO WAY anyone would stick out theirs necks to cover these people if they were indeed involved. The political risk is toooo high. Nobody wants a grave rober.
Until recently the most likely scenario was regarding romanian mafia looking for ransom….
lets see what happens over the next few days.

Kyri, you can’t help yourself, can you.
I’ll try to explain…when someone writes an opinion, that’s exactly what it remains – an opinion. The fact that that opinion is then published by someone who either agrees with it, or thinks he will somehow benefit from it, or that it will assist the case he is trying to make doesn’t then automatically raise its status to that of a fact.
It still remains an opinion, which of course cannot, at least by clear thinkers, be considered either true or false. The only thing anyone can do with it is to agree or disagree with it.
Do you think you’ve got it now?

Baron Kyri wrote:You can press “dislike”, I know that the truth hurts
BK, if you actually bothered to look at the posts that are being voted against you’d find that it is not the truth that people dislike it’s the abuse.
If people repost comments which readers have voted to have blanked out I shall edit out the content and leave a link to the original, blanked out, post. Remember, no comment is being censored it’s just that readers have to click on comments that have been disliked by readers.
If a comment is coloured pink it shows that there is disagreement about whether the comment should be blanked out. In the case of abuse very few people actually say they like it and that’s why it’s been blanked.

Kyri,
It’s not all these “languages” that use the word Turks thus. It’s a collection of racist taunts that have been gathered together to demonstrate a thesis on discrimination. This is also a quote from the same source…”Regarding writings on Turkish people and their life styles, ‘accuracy [was] of little importance; what matters [was] the illusion’”.
If you’re not intelligent enough to be able to understand the point I make, I’m afraid I’m not clever enough to be able to teach you what it is.
Your postings have now become peurile, racist, sexist garbage, the ineptness of which would be embarrassing if submitted by my five-year-old grandson.
You have become too lightweight to bother with any more.
