Striving for Peace under shadow of divide – United front: Helping the peace process, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon officially opens the second part of work at Lokmaci, the infamous Ledra Street crossing – once the symbol of the total divide of Cyprus – which is currently being restored.

We’re on the road again – Work has stepped up on the Girne bypass as Turkish firm Onur Taahut aims to meet the April deadline for linking the existing section with the Lapta road.

EU check TRNC flag for ‘harm to planet’ – The EU is going to investigate whether the giant TRNC and Turkish flags on the southern slopes of the Five Finger Mountain range are “harmful” to the environment. It follows a written complaint by Greek Cypriot  Euro MP  Antigoni  Papadopoulou. Tanju Muezzinoglu, Chairman of the Flags on the Slopes of the Besparmak Mountains  said the Greek Cypriot Government should find something else to worry about. He added the flags will be staying forever.

Eroglu changes his tune over partition – Dervis Eroglu “Now we are not in favour of partition, we are in favour of a permanent solution”.

‘We can achieve solution’ – In a joint statement Talat and Christofias said they believed they could achieve a peace deal. Soon we will be able to announce when our next meeting will be.

Aga Buyers call: ‘We’ll march on parliament’ – The calls for a  march came during a meeting of the United Aga Buyers on Saturday. Marian Stokes: ‘ There have been attempts to involve the government in a solution, we are still waiting’.
